Interconnection of IEEE 802.15.4 and Ethernet networks
Pavlata, Karel ; Kaczmarczyk, Václav (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
Táto práca sa venuje probému prepojovania rôznych typov sietí, konkrétne sietí typu IEEE 802.15.4 a Ethernetu. Motivácia vychádza zo stále sa rozširujúceho využitia bezdrátových senzorických sietí, potreby zberu dát z nich a ich integrácie. To vyžaduje aby sieť obsahovala prvky schopné preniesť dáta z bezdrátovej siete do okolitého sveta a prípadne poskytnúť konfiguračné a riadiace informácie do vnútra siete.
Localization in Wireless PAN
Polok, Zbyszek ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Hynčica, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of localization in wireless sensor network. First, ZigBit 900 Modules equipped with chip for wireless communication (AT86RF212) are used to measure the signal strength in the area of Brno University of Technology. The recorded values are then processed using trilateration localization techniques and Euclidean propagation methods. After detecting negative effects on the calculation of the position sought, a filtering method for the calculated values is proposed. In addition, an algorithm determining a sufficient number of reference values for loss rate is also designed to locate all the positions sought. By virtue of these algorithms the trilateration localization method is optimized.
Wireless Sensor Network with Atmel AVR Microcontrollers.
Mráz, Ľubomír ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes the standard IEEE802.15.4 and Zigbee for wireless sensor networks. These norms are described in detail in the first two chapters. The main priority of the wireless sensor networks is to minimize the power of the devices and the price while maximizing the reliability of the data transfer. Minimum consumption is provided by the significantly lowered complexity in comparison to the standard wireless networks. Further, the design of the concept of the complex and universal hardware platform focused on intelligent building is described. Software implementation of those norms is described in the chapters five and six. Finally, comparison of the designed hardware platform and the other commercial platforms is described in the last chapter.
ZigBee in Building Automation
Liška, Radovan ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
Improvement of wireless technologies is a natural consequence of the progress in the field of science and technology. Usage of wireless networks based on the ZigBee technology, which are capable of indepent operation in present form, providing detailed information about physical environment and process management, brings many advantages. On the other hand, there is a serious issue about commissioning. This Master's Thesis deals with introduction of ZigBee technology and its usage, describes issue about device commissioning and types of commissioning. The main part of the Thesis is my own proposal for solving this problem, proposing algorithm using the Bitcloud stack for Coordinator, End Device and Router and its demonstration at the application. Along with analysing the application there are described possible solutions for creating a new network, adding a new node into the existing network and changing a node. The result is a graphical application and firmware for each device. The result of succesfully associated devices in network is supported by the measurement.
Tracking Air Pollutants by Using Wireless Sensor Network
Válek, Tomáš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Tříska, Vít (advisor)
This thesis discusses design and production of a prototype of a device and implementation of a firmware for this device. Its function is to wirelessly monitor a concentration of pollutants like carbon monoxide and propane-butane in an atmosphere. Motivation is to allow parking of vehicles with engine gaseous fuels in underground collective garages for public use according to ČSN 73 6058 standard. The prototype of the device has been designed so that it could be used not only in collective garages but also in garages of family houses. The device was successfully designed, produced and programmed so that it can be deployed in real-world conditions.
Zigbee node for monitoring of electric energy consumption
Štefany, Martin ; Mráz, Ľubomír (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Master's thesis designs a device for monitoring of electric energy consumption with ability to send measured data wirelessly using ZigBee technology. Theoretical part describes basic principles for measuring electric power and energy and also a possibility of digital measurement. Thesis provides short overview of already existing solutions for electric consumption measurement available on the market as well. Further the ZigBee standard is described together with one of its software implementations named BitCloud from Atmel Corporation. Design of the device deals with the selection of suitable integrated circuit for the consumption measurement and optimal voltage and current sensors. Then also its connection with the wireless module named ZigBee using SPI bus, power supply for the entire device and also the design of PCB. There is also a firmware implementation for the designed device based on BitCloud. Description of the firmware together with calibration process implemented is also part of the thesis. Finally, basic device testing and packet analysis of communication between designed device and ZigBee network coordinator is described.
Wireless communication modules for microcontrollers
Klíma, Jan ; Matěj, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fedra, Zbyněk (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is analysis of wireless communication between mikroprocesors. The first part of the work are analysed the problems the wireless free ISM band. Mainly RFM12B and ZigBee module, which i these band work and ZigBee standart. The second part are described relazation board for both module. Further how programming ZigBee module. And at last programs for tested module.
Energy efficient wireless sensor platform for a snow load measurement
Bačinský, Martin ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Mráz, Ľubomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the problematics of snow load measuring. At first, sensors' principles of functionality for indirect measurements are mentioned. In the second part, the problematics of direct measurement with tensiometer takes place. The construction of wireless apparatus with the help of module ZigBit for the snow load measurement is the result of this work. Sensor board is designed in Eagle software, obeying standards for machine vacuum pickup and fabrication. The apparatus works in two modes. During indirect measuring, additional processing of data is necessary. In this mode, the sensor board has very low energy consuption and therefore long service life also after a battery connection. In the second mode, the apparatus is automatically sending data about actual snow load of particular roof. The whole machine communicates with the help of ZigBit module and ZigBee protocol IEEE 802.15.4. The communication distance between sensorial points is allowed up to 100m. At last but not at least, tensiometer UTILCELL M230 measurements are attached. In attachments, chemas and printed circuit boards are presented, too. Except documentation, the CD contains also libraries for components and details for DPS machine production in Eagle Software.
Low-power sensor networks
Frank, Jan ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Hynčica, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with measuring and optimization of power consumption of nodes in sensor network. It suggests and compares different methods of power saving for sensor network nodes, defines mathematical model of power consumption of node and implements it into Matlab. This work also includes a measure of power consumption of module Zigbit MNZB-900-B0. This module communicates in IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Measurement is used to verify accuracy of mathematical model. This work also presents basics of energy harvesting and development of system, which is using this method.
